Kip Kauffman Wins Quick 8 Outlaw's Season Opener At Kingston Drag Strip On Mickey Thompson Tires

Stow, OH - Known as the place for the world’s fastest Automatic’s, the Quick 8 Outlaw’s opener kicked off April 11th at the Kinston Drag Strip. These turbo-charged racers are well known to blast down the 1/8-mile track with elapsed times in the three to four second range at speeds approaching 180 miles an hour, and Kauffman was no exception to the rule with a 4.15 time at 176 miles per hour.

After a runner-up finish last season at Orangeburg, Kip Kauffman was there to win in his new supercharged ‘57 Chevy, ready to rumble on Mickey Thompson’s new 3187 (34.5/17.0-16) ET Drag tires.
