Duck Tape Team Dominates The IHRA Summit Pro-Am Race At Jackson, South Carolina Dragway on Mickey Thompson Tires

10/01/07

Stow, OH - Michael Beard of the Duck Tape team, defeated World Champions Myron Piatek and Anthony Bertozzi to take the win at the 2007 IHRA Summit Pro-Am Race Tour at the final stop of the tour in Jackson, South Carolina.

“It’s unbelievable!”, exclaimed Beard. “As much as drag racing is an individual sport when you're on the track itself, it definitely takes team support off the track to help get it done. I'm so happy to be able to win a Division Championship for Duck Tape, Loctite, Mickey Thompson Tires, and K&N Filters. I hope we can win another World Championship for them, too.

Beard was driving his well-known 1980 Plymouth Volare, powered by a Mopar 360-Magnum crate motor, tipping the scales at 3600 pounds to run the J/CM (Crate Motor) class in Stock Eliminator. He races on Mickey Thompson 9x29.5 Radials.

“Michael has been on a real streak this year running our M/T 3056R Radial Drag tires,”, said Carl Robinson, Motorsports Manager, Mickey Thompson Tires. “His consistent success with the combination of his car and our small radial tire have been a deadly package, and we look forward to seeing more stunning action as Michael battles for the championship.”
