Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels Introduces New Pro-5 One-Piece Rear Drag Wheel – Winner Of The 2008 SEMA Best New International Product Award

11/10/08

Stow, OH - Mickey Thompson has just introduced the new Pro-5 Drag Wheel. Winner of the 2008 SEMA Best New International Product Award, the Pro-5 Drag Wheel is the first one-piece, rotary-forged rear drag wheel with an integrated double bead-lock system in the world! Because there has been no welding of the rim or bead-lock components, metal fatigue and warping caused by heating and cooling of the wheel during high-speed applications has been eliminated.

The new bead-lock system offers greater clamping force and the lowest lateral and radial run-out in the industry. Every surface has been fully CNC-machined, and there are no bolts to come loose. This show-quality wheel has been highly polished for the best in appearance, and it’s absolutely the lightest SFI-Certified drag wheel available today.

“We are very excited to introduce this new Pro-5 Drag Wheel,” said Carl Robinson, Motorsports Manager, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. “The technology, engineering and testing that have gone into this wheel have made this a truly innovative product in its class, and we are proud that the Pro-5 has been recognized with this prestigious award.”
