Stow, Ohio – August 2, 2017– Pro Stock rider LE Tonglet won the Mickey Thompson Pro Bike Battle in Sonoma on Saturday after an eventful final round against 2015 champion Eddie Krawiec.
Krawiec started strong, with an impressive .015-second reaction time, but was forced to lift after his Harley-Davidson Street Rod began to drift to the center line. Tonglet won the final round of the battle with a 6.827-second pass at 196.07 mph on his Suzuki.
Tonglet’s victory ends the three-year winning streak for Harley Davidson riders in the Pro Bike Battle. It was his first appearance in the race-within-a-race bonus event.
“What an exciting Pro Bike Battle and congratulations to LE Tonglet on an impressive and well-deserved victory,” said Ken Warner, Vice President of Marketing for Mickey Thompson.
Tonglet earned $7,500 for his win, while Krawiec pocketed $2,500.
